Separate a PDF by page or by range
Splitting helps when one large PDF actually holds several documents: a scanned batch of invoices, a book with chapters, or a bundle you need to send in parts.
Foldr has two modes. Every page as its own file creates one PDF per page. Custom ranges lets you type ranges such as 1-3,5,8-10, and each comma-separated part becomes its own PDF. When more than one file is produced, they are bundled into a single ZIP.
How to use Split PDF
- Add your PDFDrag a PDF onto the upload area or press Choose file.
- Choose a modeIn Settings, pick Every page as its own file or Custom ranges. For ranges, type something like 1-3,5,8-10.
- Press Split PDFThe progress bar shows the pages being separated.
- DownloadDownload the single PDF, or the ZIP when several files were created.
Limitations to know about
- Each comma-separated part becomes a separate file. 1-3,5 gives two files, not one file with pages 1, 2, 3 and 5. To keep chosen pages together in one file, use Extract pages.
- Page numbers must fall inside the document, otherwise an error shows the allowed range.
- Encrypted PDFs cannot be opened.
Common uses
- Send only the relevant section of a long report.
- Break a scanned batch into one file per document.
- Separate chapters of a book or manual.
Frequently asked questions
How do I split a PDF into individual pages?
Choose Every page as its own file, press Split PDF and download the ZIP. Files are named like yourfile-p1.pdf.
How do I split a PDF by page range?
Choose Custom ranges and type the ranges separated by commas, for example 1-3,5,8-10. Each part is saved as its own PDF.
