Foldr is a collection of free PDF tools that run in your web browser. You can merge, split, compress, rotate, crop, watermark and number PDFs, and convert between PDF, images, Word, Excel and text.
How the tools work
Each tool is JavaScript that runs on your own device. When you choose a file, your browser reads it, the tool processes it in memory, and you download the result. The tools are built on open-source libraries: pdf-lib and PDF.js for PDF handling, JSZip for ZIP files, SheetJS for spreadsheets and Mammoth for Word files. These libraries load from a public CDN when you open a tool.
Privacy
Your files are not uploaded to a Foldr server. Read more on the privacy page.
What Foldr does not do yet
Foldr has no OCR, so scanned PDFs cannot be converted to editable text. Editing PDF content, filling forms, protecting or unlocking PDFs, and PowerPoint conversions are listed as coming soon and are not available yet.
