Add Page Numbers to PDF

Stamp a page counter on every page and choose where it goes.

Number every page of a PDF

Foldr stamps a page counter on every page in the format 1 / N, for example 3 / 12. Choose Bottom center, Bottom left, Bottom right, Top center or Top right, and set the font size (the default is 11). Numbers use a standard Helvetica font in dark grey.

Numbering is most useful for contracts, reports, assignments and merged bundles. If you are combining files, merge them first so the numbering runs across the whole document.

Limitations to know about

  • Numbering always starts at 1 on the first page and covers every page. There is no custom start number, prefix or option to skip a cover page.
  • The numbers are drawn on top of the page, so they can overlap content that is very close to the edge.
  • Encrypted PDFs cannot be opened.

Common uses

  • Number a long contract or report before printing.
  • Add numbering to a merged bundle of documents.
